You got questions and we got answers.
How often are new coffees introduced?
I expect to have a new coffee drop every month. It takes a bit of time to evaluate samples, optimize the roast profile and then scale it up for production and sale. As I get more efficient I hope to ramp up frequency.
How long will the current coffee be available for?
Initially I'll purchase and roast 50 lbs. of coffee at a time. Once I sell through that inventory it is gone until the next drop. Depending on demand I may commit to larger drops.
When will I get my order?
We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible, but expect an order to ship within 2 days. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
How much does shipping cost?
Next to the cost of the coffee itself shipping is the most expensive input. I charge a flat of $5 for single bag orders and $10 for 3 bags or more.
Where do you source your coffee?
I partner a couple of coffee importers but my primary source is The Coffee Shrub out of Oakland California. They provide a tremendous amount of information on their coffees and follow practices that ensure what they offer has been ethically sourced and meets the high standards you would expect for specialty coffee.
How do you choose the charities?
Charities we contribute to generally fall into two broad categories of global health and food sustainability. We also consider how efficiently the charities use the money they raise and how effective they are at impacting the lives of those in need.
